  • On 22 December 1990, a Security Council Resolution dissolved the Pacific Islands (Trust Territory) (M49 code 582) which lead to the creation of the Northern Mariana Islands (M49 code 580), the Federated States of Micronesia (M49 code 583), the Marshall Islands (M49 code 584) and Palau (M49 code 585).
