note
- Indigenous Peoples do not have rights only to the land they directly cultivate or inhabit, but to the broader territory, encompassing the total environments of the areas which they occupy or otherwise use, inclusive of natural resources, rivers, lakes, and coasts. Birgitte Feiring 2013. “Indigenous Peoples’ rights to lands, territories and resources”. International Land Coalition, Rome. P. 17. This term is in line with art. 26 United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), 2007.
