- عدد اتمی آن 82، جرم اتمی 21/207، شعاع یونی 84/0، چگالی 3/11، فلزی است خاکستری متمایل به آبی که در اثر دگرسانی تیره و کدر میشود، چکشخوار و شل و نرم است. سیستم تبلور کوبیک و همراه با سیلیکاتها و سولفورها، سولفاتها، فسفاتها و کربناتها یافت میشود. کانه اصلی آن گالن است.
