- اگر سختی آب مربوط به مقدار قابل توجهی از یونهای +ca2 یا +mg2 باشد، آن را سختی دایم آب میگویند. سختی دایم آب با گرم كردن از بین نمیرود. در این مورد، یونهای كلسیم را با اضافه كردن سدیم كربنات جدا میكنند.
